Last night, I came home from pie night and immediately crawled in bed and fell asleep. It was about 8:45! So, therefore, here is last night's post.
I had a meeting with most of my famine volunteers last night. I ran out of copies and we almost had to go to another room because there were so many of us! I am so excited to be sharing this experience with so many adults as well as youth. And, I feel blessed to have so many adults willing to give up their time, and food, to spend 30 hours with teenagers- and with God! There are so many varied people helping me and I love seeing how so many different people can use their special gifts for the same event. Some are great with kids and want to spend time with them, some are cooking the "break the fast" meal, some are video taping parts of the event, and some are doing it because they felt it was something they wanted to share with their teen.
This is the first year I've had so many adults and so many youth. (works out well that way!) So, I decided to have a pre- famine meeting to discuss details. I'm really glad I did. It was a great time to brainstorm and troubleshoot a few issues that I hadn't even thought of. What makes sense in my mind is not always portrayed the same on an excel spreadsheet. So, it was good to go over the schedule with the group, too. I'm sure there will still be "bumps in the road", but I think we'll be able to smooth them out pretty easily.
So, where was God on Wednesday? He was in the hearts of each of my volunteers who decided to use their gifts to spend time helping teens get closer to God and themselves by serving others.

1 Corinthians 12:4-6
New Living Translation (NLT)
4 There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but the same Spirit is the source of them all. 5 There are different kinds of service, but we serve the same Lord. 6 God works in different ways, but it is the same God who does the work in all of us.
Blessings,
