As my daily devotion time, I'm going to write, instead of read someone else's, daily miracles. My hope is, that by doing this, I will enrich my journey and awareness of God in the little things in my life and also encourage others to do the same. I encourage you to share your comments and stories of things that you encounter along your journey.
Blessings,
Jennifer

Devotion

For years, my grandparents worked for months each year to put out a lenten devotional.  They would ask people from their church to write a devotion.  Then they would compile them all and create the book.  When I lived with my grandma after my grandpa passed away, I watched as she worked hard every year to share the devotions with church family and friends.  It was her gift to them.
Today, I received my devotion book in the mail.  Although my grandma passed away a few years ago, their legacy lives on.  My parents started a lenten devotion book at their church some years back.
I must admit, I cheat every year.  I get it in the mail and then I look through it and start reading some of them right away.
Last year, I was able to share the devotions with my youth during our mission trip.  I was amazed at how the devotions we read each night related somehow to what we had done that day.
I am grateful to my parents for their dedication to sharing this gift with so many and for keeping alive the tradition my grandparents started so long ago.  The hours of typing, proofreading, waiting for all of the devotions to arrive, it's a lot of hard work.  But, when I thought about my day and where I saw God, the first thing that came to mind was the devotion book I got in the mail.
This year, the book is based on Collossians 3:12- 17.  It definitely gives me something to think about- and something to look toward focusing my life on.
Colossians 3:12-14
New International Version (NIV)
12 Therefore, as God’s chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. 13 Bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you has a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you. 14 And over all these virtues put on love, which binds them all together in perfect unity.
