Today I opened a new chapter in my life. Camp was a great part of my spiritual journey when I was young. Today, I came to camp to share that experience with youth. I am hopeful for this week to come. I've been excited ever since I realized I would be able to go because I felt that was something I was missing with my youth.
So, this morning when I woke up early and felt a little strange, I was worried. I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror. I looked like I had gotten botox on my upper lip- or gotten punched in the mouth the night before. Since neither of those had happened, I was confused. My lip was numb and I had no idea why. The only thing I could think to do was take benadryl. I did, and I soon felt the effects of that- both good and bad. This was not the time to be spacey- getting things ready and loaded up for our trip. But, God took care of it all. Parents came and jumped right in loading up and getting things all packed in. Earlier in the week, I had figured out transportation which didn't include me as a driver. That was a blessing since I really didn't feel much like driving.
We got to the camp, unloaded, and settled in. Soon, the other group staying with us got here. 10 youth and 1 adult is joining our group of 7 youth and me, along with another volunteer coming later. With just a few conversations, I was anxious to meet the other group leader and their group. It soon became clear that the other leader and I were going to have a great week together. We're both ready to lead when we need to and help out when we need to, and let the other take over when they need to. The youth are starting to connect, although that typically takes a bit of time and a few activities for them to completely intertwine. I'm looking forward to what God has planned for this week ahead.
So, where was God today? He helped me get things here by giving me the help I needed to make it happen.
Blessings,
Jennifer
