As my daily devotion time, I'm going to write, instead of read someone else's, daily miracles. My hope is, that by doing this, I will enrich my journey and awareness of God in the little things in my life and also encourage others to do the same. I encourage you to share your comments and stories of things that you encounter along your journey.
Blessings,
Jennifer

Camp

Monday-
Tonight at work, I played a game with one of the girls.  She's probably about 1st grade.  Usually, she comes in the morning looking sad.  I realized early on that it's not really that she's sad as much as it is that she's painfully shy.  So a lot of the time, she's by herself and looking sad.  But, every afternoon, she now greets me as I come in.  I respond and ask her what her favorite part of the day was.  She usually doesn't know, but it was obvious she had fun.  Now, she laughs and tells me that I always ask her that.  She has a smile that lights up a room!
I found out recently her dad died awhile back.  This little girl has dealt with more than girls her age should deal with.  So, her shyness/ sadness comes from a lot of stuff she's dealing with.  But, days and weeks being surrounded by people who want to give her the best summer ever is breaking down some of those walls.  And, when she lets them down, I can tell she is a fun loving girl who just wants to be happy and loved.
These are the stories that make the chaos that is summer camp all worthwhile.
So, where was God today?  He was at camp.  He's in the hearts of the counselors and workers who do what they can to give kids the best summer of happiness and memories that they will always treasure.  He gives them the patience, love, and sometimes the wisdom and words to know just what to say or do.
Blessings,
Jennifer
