I got this late Tuesday. So, here it is. Every Wednesday, I go to pie with my youth. We found out almost 2 years ago that a local restaurant has pie for .99 on Wednesdays. My Wednesday night programs took off after! Without fail, we gather every week. It's a time of fun and bonding for the group. It's one of our few pure social events. We're loud. We're silly. And, we eat pie. It's also an easy way to invite someone to the group. It's a way to let people know we're here. And, we pray.
I must admit that I don't always pray when I go out to eat. And, I must admit that sometimes we forget since everyone gets served at different times due to desserts and dinners being ordered. But, for the most part, we pray. Everyone puts 2 thumbs up and the last one to put their thumbs up prays. Sometimes we can skip that because someone volunteers.
Last night I got a text from one of the moms. They are on vacation. They were out to dinner and her youngest son put his thumbs up. Her oldest son then led them into a beautiful prayer. It was an awesome experience for them as a family!
I love seeing people go closer to God and each other at the same time! And to think it's all because of pie!
So where was God today? He was urging that boy to put up his thumbs and talk to Him in prayer.
Blessings,
Jennifer
