Today was our third youthworker prayer group meeting. Along with a purpose to pray for our ministry and our youth, we are also hoping to encourage quarterly events that will combine all of the community churches and youth. On the first Tuesday of the month we meet longer to discuss plans for this. So, that meant today was a longer meeting.
By the end of our gathering time, we had some great plans for our first event- Summerfest! If we can connect churches from the area to bring families together and have a great day of fun for everyone, then it will be the beginning of an amazing thing! For years I've hoped that churches would unite for community events or youth events. It seems like that is becoming a closer reality.
Other than the event, it has been great to start connecting with youthworkers and praying. Taking an hour out of my week to focus on praying for youth has been enriching for me as well as the others there. It doesn't matter if we have just a few. Where 2 or more are gathered, God is there.
So where was God today? He was in our conversation about planning an event and He was there for us to talk to during our prayer time.
