As my daily devotion time, I'm going to write, instead of read someone else's, daily miracles. My hope is, that by doing this, I will enrich my journey and awareness of God in the little things in my life and also encourage others to do the same. I encourage you to share your comments and stories of things that you encounter along your journey.
Blessings,
Jennifer

Mothers

It's Mother's Day!  It's been a great day of celebrating.  During church, my son made a point to wait for me so he could sit with me. Usually, he runs the sound so we don't get to sit together. I thought it was sweet of him to do, knowing that would be something special to me.  He also bought me a beautiful glass dolphin.  I'm pretty sure this is the first Mother's Day gift he actually bought me all on his own.
This morning I went to church and saw so many friends.  I am blessed to have an amazing mom!  I am also aware that there are so many people who are amazing mother- like people in other's lives- aunts, friends, teachers, role models.  When people aren't as blessed as I have been, God has other plans for them.  And, God puts people in their path to fulfill that role- both for "mother" and child.  This morning, at church I witnessed several instances of this.
A girl from youth group has had a rough life until her dad got custody of her.  I have been blessed to be one of the people in her life to fill the gap her mom has left.  She has blessed my life in so many ways and I was happy she was able to spend Mother's Day with us.  She made me a really sweet card and brought me chocolate.
But, it's not the gifts that are most important.  It's the thoughts, the love, the actions that make being a mom, or "special person" such a joy!
So, where was God today?  I saw Him in the love of so many people in so many different ways, in the ways those people were put where they were supposed to be, in the paths of the people they were supposed to be in.
Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.” Proverbs 31:30
