I've been here less than 12 hours. I've been looking forward to my visit since I started planning it. I was anxious for some time to relax, time to catch up with my cousin, and time to catch up with the rest of my family, along with spending time in a place I love. For some reason, I wasn't expecting one thing. My cousin's boys, who I know are adorable, have already brought me so much joy! Hearing their giggles, hearing the silly "kid jokes", and watching them play together has made today even better.
They were young the last time I visited and I'm guessing they don't really remember me. But, after a little shyness, they have accepted me being here. The youngest was very happy to be letting me borrow his room for a few days. He's at a stage when he wants nothing more than to make everyone smile and laugh. The older one was about at that stage the last time I remember him. So, I'm amazed at how he's grown up.
I am so blessed to have an amazing son who has recently turned 18. But, seeing these boys reminds me of when my own was little.
Two weeks ago, I got to see my nieces and nephew. They are all growing up so fast, too and going through new stages in life. My niece will be starting middle school! When they come to visit they are so excited to be at my house and so excited to do whatever we're doing.
All of these young ones in all different stages have so much to teach us. We should look at their examples as something to follow and spread to others. We should laugh and be silly sometimes and encourage others to laugh and be silly with us. We should spend time just playing with our friends. We should be accepting of new people and share with them. We should be excited and happy to be wherever we are no matter what we're doing.
I love working with and spending time with young people because I get reminders of this often.
So, where was God today? He was in the laughs, the smiles, the giggles, and the pure happiness of young ones.

The Message (MSG)
13-16The people brought children to Jesus, hoping he might touch them. The disciples shooed them off. But Jesus was irate and let them know it: "Don't push these children away. Don't ever get between them and me. These children are at the very center of life in the kingdom. Mark this: Unless you accept God's kingdom in the simplicity of a child, you'll never get in." Then, gathering the children up in his arms, he laid his hands of blessing on them.
Blessings,Jennifer
