Every night this week, I get ready to start writing and fall asleep. I actually opened up the new post screen to write last night but fell asleep right after. Right now I am fighting migraine warning signs. So if anything I write doesn't make sense, I'm sorry. :)
This has been a busy week and will be getting busier! The time is almost here! The hurricane experience begins Friday afternoon! I'm so excited and can't wait to do it! But, it means a week of running around getting the last minute details worked out. As much as I say I need to know ahead of time, I never know until the last minute who is coming. But, at this point I have a pretty good idea.
Monday I spent time getting that list finalized, putting groups together, and matching my volunteers to my leaders. It's awesome to see my young adults once again coming back to be a part of the leadership of the youth events.
Tuesday, I finalized the schedule details. I've had the schedule set for months, but there are always a few last minute updates to make. Then I made my to do list and my shopping list. Most of the stuff just has to be gathered from around the church, but a few things need to be bought Thursday. Luckily, people have volunteered to bring the food and some other things so that's awesome! I love that people hear what we are doing and get excited bout it so much that they want to be a part of it too!
Wednesday was my "hunting and gathering" day. I came up with more things than I thought for some of the activities. So, my shopping list got shorter! I also sat in on the music rehearsal and am excited about their willingness to use their gifts for this weekend.
But, that's not all that has happened this week!
Yesterday I took a CPR class to be re-certified. As I was sitting there, I thought about how amazing it is that we have the opportunity to save a life. How amazing the human body is! And, although I hope I never have to use what I've learned, I am grateful that I have learned it.
Tonight, as I was dropping off a couple of my youth, a car sped towards us and ended up hitting my open door. They continued on down the street. I was pretty angry because I now have damage on my new car. But, the more I thought, I was just really grateful that the girls I was dropping off didn't get hurt. They were right there and it could have been a horrific situation. So, I guess the damaged door isn't so bad.
So, where was God this week? He's helping me get ready for the hurricane experience in so many ways! I can't imagine doing it without him! He was with me in my CPR class and was there when the first breath of life was taken..what an amazing creation He made! And, He was there when my car was hit keeping people safe.
Blessings,
Jennifer
