It has been such an awesome week-actually, week and a half. I thought about writing eachday and would have had some great moments to share. But I was so busy living in the moment and experiencing gGod with my youth that by the time I had time to write, I was already half asleep.
We started with the 30 hour famine. With the famine starting on good Friday, it put a whole different aspect into the event. I ended up with 26 youth and 10 adults who volunteered. There were stories of ways my youth were able to care for and about others in ways they hadn't experienced before. And, with it being good Friday, we talked more about the ways Jesus saved us and how we couldn't repay him but we could respond to the needs of others.
That was the main focus of the weekend. I don't know how much we raised for our mission organizations. I still have some counting to do. But, I do know it was over $1600 and probably closer to $2500.
So, where was God during our famine? He was helping us realize ways we could work for him.
Blessings,
Jennifer
